What is an Infusion Pump? Precautions for use?

What is an infusion pump? Precautions for use? (Fig. 1)

C60da18df">Intravenous infusion is a commonly used method of administration in clinical treatment. Depending on the nature of the drug and the patient's constitution, the speed of intravenous infusion is also different. It is difficult to achieve the expected treatment effect if the infusion is too fast or too slow, and even affects the safety of nursing. Infusion pumpIt is an instrument that can accurately control the number of infusion drops or infusion flow rate, ensure that the drug can be evenly velocied, the dosage is accurate and safely enter the patient's body to play a role, and it is also an intelligent infusion device, the infusion speed is not affected by human blood pressure and the operator, and the infusion is accurate and reliable, which helps to reduce the intensity of clinical nursing work, and improve the accuracy, safety and quality of infusion. Infusion pumps have a variety of product models and different performance. According to its working characteristics, it can be divided into three categories: peristaltic controlled infusion pumps, constant volume controlled infusion pumps and syringe microinjection infusion pumps.

Note:

1.
2. After long-term use of the pump, if there is a dent or crack at the button on the operating surface, the manufacturer should be notified to replace it in time, otherwise it may affect the normal use of the pump.
  3. The disposable infusion set produced by the specified manufacturer in this manual should be accurately selected, if the infusion set with unsuitable quality is selected, the rate may be inaccurate, the pressure may be false alarm and other phenomena. For the designated infusion set, its shape, structure, size, biochemical, physical, measurement and other indicators must be tested and approved by the relevant supervision departments.
4. When the infusion pump is used continuously for more than 8 hours, To ensure high infusion accuracy, the infusion line needs to be moved upstream to ensure that the infusion line placed between the power box and the pressure plate is not extruded.
5. When reinstalling the infusion line, the squeezed infusion line cannot be installed between the two ultrasonic sensors, otherwise the false alarm of the pipeline bubble will occur.
6. The flow regulator must be in the line between the pump and the patient, and should be on before starting the pump.
7. Air bubbles in the line between the pump and the patient cannot be detected and must be manually removed.
8. When the room temperature is lower than 20°C±2°C or the rate is greater than 30ml/h, it is generally not recommended to set the blocking pressure of the infusion pump to "low" (when the temperature is low, The wall of the infusion tube is hard and easy to cause blockage and false alarm).
9. Do not press the force measuring contact too hard, otherwise it will damage the load cell.
10. The material and pipe diameter error of the infusion set will affect the output accuracy of the pump.
11. When there are other infusion systems or accessories connected to the infusion set on the pump, please make sure that there is no bubble input and the infusion set on the pump must be equipped with a one-way valve.
12. The blocking alarm threshold is greatly affected by the ambient temperature and the material of the infusion tube. The test must be carried out in accordance with the requirements of GB9706.27 during testing: especially when selecting poor quality infusion sets, the blocking alarm threshold may be inaccurate.
13. The infusion volume setting must be as close as possible to the actual volume in the container, which can generally be 15ml smaller than the actual liquid volume. Otherwise, it is possible to pump all the liquid in the pipe until the bubble in the pipeline alarms and stops.
14. The rechargeable battery in the pump should be checked for the time of charging and discharging once a month, so as not to be unusable due to the battery running out when the battery is working.
15. Although the rated power life of the battery is 5.5 hours, the battery is damaged or incompletely charged, and the battery can be used for pump work time will not be guaranteed.
16. When the battery is exhausted and the continuous sound and light alarm, the pump should be connected to the AC power supply in time for charging or shutting down, otherwise the battery will run out of power and the battery may be damaged.
17. It should be charged continuously for 16 hours in the shutdown state before first use. Charging method: When the infusion pump is turned off, turn on the AC power supply, and the AC indicator light will be on, and the pump will be in the charging state.
18. After AC and DC power failure at the same time, the system time needs to be reset: rate, KVO rate, system pressure and infusion set brand, and the last setting will be saved permanently.
19. This product is strictly forbidden to be used for blood transfusion.
